Cooperative parties

The office of the Ombudsman for Children collaborates with a variety of groups and organizations, procures outside services and recruits high school trainees. The collaborative partners and forums include:

  • Government management group of Child, Youth and Family Policy Programme
  • Policy programme group of ‘A Finland for Children';
  • Management group for the 20th anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child;
  • Board of the Finnish Independence Anniversary Year Foundation;
  • Steering group of the Finnish Children's Parliament;
  • Finnish Children's Parliament
  • Children and the Media Forum (Ministry of Transport and Communications);
  • Steering group of the 2008-2011‘Lasinen Lapsuus' project on children affected by parental alcohol / substance abuse;
  • Central Union for Child Welfare's committee on children with disabilities and long-term illnesses;
  • Election work with the Finnish Youth Cooperation- Allianssi, and the
  • Advisory Council for Youth Affairs;
  • Ministry of Social Affairs and Health working group on organizing research into child sexual abuse;
  • Ministry of Social Affairs and Health working group on child physical punishment (being set up);
  • International work of the Central Union for Child Welfare, and
  • Advisory boards on early childhood education and preventive child protection;
  • Steering group of the Equality.fi project (Ministry of the Interior), and the
  • Follow-up group on social exclusion (Ministry of the Interior).
In addition, the office is involved when possible with the cooperative networks in central Finland in the areas of child participation and welfare.
