Ombudsman for Children in Finland

If you have a query concerning the case of an individual child or family, please first read the information on this site on bodies that deal with child and family matters.

The Ombudsman for Children does not deal with individual cases concerning children and families and does not take positions related to them. The Ombudsman cannot alter the decisions taken by another authority and deal with complaints cancerning them.

On the basis of these contacts the Ombudsan for Children receives information on shortcomings in the situation of children and the implementation of their rights.  This information can be used in the Ombudsman's lobbying work in society
